This story is about DJ, member of the Ruthless Rebels MC & Kene, his high school sweetheart. They broke up 8 years ago when he joined the MC but reunite when an act of kindness towards his mom, who is an addict puts Kene in harm's way. before you know it, they are back together again.I basically liked some of the story. Kene was smart and sacrifIced a lot to take care of her mom, who suffered from a debilitating depression. The author did good job depicting how hard it is to provide care for a loved one suffering from chronic severe depression. I also liked the fact that Kene didnt just jump back into a relationship with DJ without asking him and herself some hard questions.
I wasn't so sure about DJ. he was a little too alpha for me and too violent. He seemed to really get off on torturing people and while I understood how he felt about his mother who was never there for him, i still felt like telling Kene to run the other way: a man who hates his mother is gonna have a hard time loving and respecting you.
my biggest problem with the book is the really abrupt ending. i know there's a part 2 to the book, but it basically stops in mid paragraph! i think I'm gonna get the next book in the series but hope its a little better than this book.

Oh how I missed MC reads! These ladies are my favorite and I love when they write together!!
This was a novella so it was a quick read and it felt a little rushed at the end but I loved all the drama! You quickly love and hate these characters for different reasons. At one point I expected some really crazy stuff to happen after a particular scene but then it fell a little short when I was finished with the chapter. I am super curious to see if they actually bring in more drama from the one scene or if it just gets pushed aside.
I really love getting to know characters and I think Kenderly was a pretty unique character as far as she has some pretty incredibly heartbreaking first chapters. But you better believe that firecracker came out when she truly needed. And let's just say that I am not that big a fan of DJ's (Dixon) and you will totally understand why when you read this series! I understand why he thought he needed to treat a young Kenderly so poorly but I don't like him and I was a little upset when he showed up in front of her at her work place.

Shamed is the first book in the Ruthless Rebels MC series and I really liked this novella. Yes I said novella but let me tell you it is filled with action, plenty of hot sex, and the start of a new MC series this this book whore is already loving.
Dixon “DJ” and Kenderly “Kenie” have history, one that broke Kenie’s heart and when she needed Dixon the most he left her behind. She hates him, seeing glimpses of him both hurts and infuriates her. DJ has tried to stay away from her but one night something happens and he can’t stay away any longer. He claims his woman, something he should have done so many years ago, and once truths are told, explanations are made I really wanted to punch him in the nuts but at the same time I could understand why. Kenie is stubborn, sassy at times and has the weight of the world on her shoulders; she needed to lean on someone and when she is forced to lean on Dixon you know he will make it right.
The chemistry between these two was explosive and I love that they got their second chance, too bad it took eight years to get there. Shamed is one I enjoyed and can easily say add to your TBR lists today!
I have only ever returned a handful of books but I disliked this so much I returned it. I cannot stand DJ. I am not even going to call him a hero because he is not that. DJ and Kenderly apparently fell in love in high school. Then Kenderly’s world falls apart. Her father dies and her mother falls into a deep depression. Just when she really needs Dixon, he decides to propspect for the Ruthless Rebels and leaves her. To show that nothing is as important to him as the brotherhood, he is asked to sacrifice his relationship with Kenderly and he does. He thinks it will not be so bad because it will give her “space” to heal. For 8 years he lives the wild life with the Ruthless Rebels including having sex with many club “tricks.” Our pathetic heroine stays celibate during this time pining away for him. When Kenderly helps out DJ’s homeless mother, Kenderly finds herself the target of some bad men whom DJ’s mother owes money. DJ steps in and “claims” Kenderly to protect her. Kenderly forgives him almost immediately and jumps right into bed with him. Oh, no, no, no. I can absolutely never forgive him. He is the worst sort of selfish man and definitely not my idea of a romance novel hero. I hated this plot on so many levels.
I have loved Ryan Michele’s books so I was not expecting this horrible book. I really detested it.
Kenderly and DJ were sweethearts in high school who let life tear them apart. DJ gave up Kenie in order to show the club that he was putting them before everything else. Unfortunately, this came at time when Kenie needed him more than ever and she has never forgiven him for it. He tried to get her to see that it was only temporary but she didn't want to hear it (I couldn't blame her for that) and his pride wouldn't let him put himself out there again. Cue 8 years going by and now they find themselves dancing around each other again. DJ now knows how to be a man and stand up for what he wants and realizes this is his last chance to get his happiness with Kenie. When circumstances allow him to claim her, he does not hesitate to do it. I had issues with Kenie forgiving him so fast and allowing him into her life again. Yes, she was in danger but she still needed to clear the air and get all of the past hurt out. DJ wound up being the one to bring up the past and try to get her to see that he is a changed man. There was drama and their lives moved quickly into their new roles together. The book was short and had quite a few grammatical and spelling errors. I do like the works both of these authors have done in the past so this was a disappointment to it wasn't edited better.
